The Lofoten Island archipelago is situated off the north west coast of Norway. They are located within the arctic circle and are well-known for their scenic beauty. The main islands in the group are as follows: Gimsoy, Vestvagoy, Flakstadoya, Moskenesoya, Vaeroy and Rost.
For this commission, the westernmost island were charted, namely: Flakstadoya, Vestvagoy, Gimsoya and Austvagoya. The islands area all close enough to be connected by bridge or tunnel. The islands are mountainous and scenic and run diagonally through the centre of the chart. The finished look is balanced and uniform.
A blue background was used and a white mount and frame combination. In-built surround lighting complements the finished work by highlighting the chart contours.
