Antigua is located in the middle of the Leeward Island in the Eastern Caribbean, to the south are the islands of Montserrat and Guadaloupe, and to the north and west are Nevis, St. Kitts, St.Barts, and St.Martin.

Antigua’s coastline is intricate, with bays and headlands fringed with reefs and shoals; several inlets, including Parham and English Harbour, afford anchorage for shipping, and St. John’s has a deepwater harbour. The island has an area of 280 square km. It is mostly low and undulating, but in the west there are volcanic rocks that rise to 405 metres at Mount Obama.

The insert, on the right bottom corner shows the Mamora Bay. On the left bottom corner shows Falmouth Harbour and English Harbour. The insert is a nice feature and gives prominence to a chosen location while maintaining the perspective of the ‘bigger picture’.

English Harbour on the south-eastern coast is famed for its protected shelter during violent storms. English Harbour and the neighbouring village of Falmouth are internationally famous as a yachting and sailing destination. During Antigua Sailing Week, the annual world-class regatta brings many sailing vessels and sailors to the island.
