These are beautiful charts from the Gold Coast range featuring Balearics. The gold leaf is painstakingly applied to an aluminium composite, and then the nautical chart is printed as a “negative” as in traditional lithography. The effect is stunning. The land is displayed as gold with the text in navy ink . The sea is navy with the chart depth details in 24 carat gold leaf. The detail is exquisite.
We designed these three individual Gold Coast charts from a single combined chart to create the Trinity set. Each one overlaps with the others, and the backlighting casts shadows while gentle lighting on each chart enhances the dramatic effect.
