This chart features Baltimore USA and Chesapeake Bay. Baltimore is in north-central Maryland at the head of the the Patapsco River estuary, 25 km above Chesapeake Bay. The city is also located on the fall line between the Piedmont Plateau and the Atlantic coastal plain, which divides Baltimore into “lower city” and “upper city”. The city’s elevation ranges from sea level at the harbor to 150 metres in the northwest corner near Pimlico.
The Chesapeake Bay is the largest estuary in the United States. More than 150 major rivers and streams flow into the bay and it is approximately 320 km long from its northern headwaters in the Susquehanna River to its outlet in the Atlantic Ocean. It is 4.5 km wide at its narrowest and 48 km at its widest.
This chart was quite challenging due to the bridges and jetties – straight line structures are very difficult to cut by hand. The 3D chart finished with a black frame and includes Surround Lighting which highlight all of the features.
