The prestigious J Class Association commissioned Latitude Kinsale® to create the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prizes for the America’s Cup J Class Regatta in Bermuda. Showcasing the heritage and tradition of the America’s Cup, a fleet of 8 J Class boats will race in their own exclusive regatta.
Internationally acclaimed artist Bobby Nash created unique 3D Chart prizes based on a classic black & white chart “Bermuda Islands” from the UKHO Admiralty® archive. The stunning 1950’s chart shows the archipelago of islands and reefs that make this a unique anchorage in the North Atlantic. The hand crafted 3D chart enables mariners to visualise the contours of depth in a third dimension. The complex reef structure of Bermuda is painstakingly crafted by hand. As many as 2000 individual pieces were meticulously crafted and assembled to create a unique piece of art. The prizes are beautifully presented in a frame incorporating Surround Lighting (patent pending).
“It’s a great honour to be selected as the creator of the overall prizes for the America’s Cup J Class regatta in Bermuda” said Bobby Nash. “To have my work appreciated by such a prestigious event and organisation is a reflection of the fifteen years of experience, design evolution and presentation of my work.”
