I love making 3D charts of exotic locations so I can tell you I was thrilled to take a commission for Bora Bora. The chart was created from a UKHO chart, a modern chart. What I like about this particular chart is its colour scheme, it beautifully compliments the Pacific Island dream, a romantic lagoon surrounded by small low-lying islands.
I chose a white frame to give the fresh nautical look and feel. The surround lighting with the Blue Aluminium sets the composition, a really attractive hue of light emanates from the surround mount, it bounces off the Blue Aluminium to give a floating effect as though the whole chart is suspended in the frame similar to how the islands are surrounded by the Pacific Ocean.
50*50mm white frame 700*630mm.
8 layers in total.

Bora Bora is an island in the Leeward group of the Society Islands of French Polynesia in the Pacific Ocean. The island, located about 230 kilometres northwest of Papeete, is surrounded by a lagoon and a barrier reef. In the centre of the island are the remnants of an extinct volcano rising to two peaks, Mount Pahia and Mount Otemanu, the highest point at 726 metres.
