The Banks Peninsula is a geographically interesting area. It is volcanic in origin and is located on New Zealand’s South Island. It is a circular shape with two large harbours and many smaller coves and bays. Akaroa Harbour is situated on the south side and extends almost to the centre of the peninsula. Lyttelton Harbour is the main harbour on the north side and is just south of Christchurch. To the west is Lake Forsyth and further west is Lake Ellesmere which is a large triangular shaped lagoon measuring nearly 200 square km.

The city of Christchurch is the largest city on New Zealand’s South Island and is located in the Cantebury region. From here you can see the long arc of Pegasus Bay sweeping northwards. This 3d chart is an easily identifiable representation of this lovely area and is one of several we have created for New Zealand. The chart sits on a golden background and has a charcoal mount and a black frame. Surround lighting enhances the finished piece.

This chart was auctioned to raise funds for the Christchurch Earthquake fund.
