The Firth of Forth is the estuary of several rivers including the River Forth. It meets the North Sea with Fife on the north coast and Lothian on the south. It is a sheltered arm of the North Sea and the estuary of the River Forth. From the tidal limit at Stirling to the Isle of May the Forth is long and covers an area of 1,670 kilometres.

The Firth of Forth is an important waterway with many industries from shipbuilding to naval yards. Close by you have the beautiful city of Edinburgh. Port Edgar is tucked in under the famous bridges which span the Firth of Forth at the narrow point of Queensferry. The Railway bridge is built on a small island, Inch Garvie. Inverkeithing Bay & Dalgety are on the north shore. The channel is very deep, as much as 30m which explains why there is a terminal at Barfoot.
