Taha’a is the sister island to nearby Raiatea as they share the same lagoon. Taha’a, known as “The Vanilla Island,” is famous for its vanilla plantations and laid-back atmosphere.
Huahine measures 16 km in length, with a maximum width of 13 km. It is made up of two main islands surrounded by a fringing coral reef with several islets. Huahine Nui lies to the north and Huahine Iti to the south. The total land area is 75 km2. The two islands are separated by a few hundred metres of water and joined by a sandspit at low tide.
