Ibiza and the smaller island of Formentera are two of the Balearic islands. They lie off the east coast of the Spanish city of Valencia. Both islands form the archipelago known as the Pine islands. Ibiza is know as a lively tourist destination but also for its many pretty towns and villages. Notable locations include San Jose, San Antonio Abad, San Juan Bautista and Santa Eulalia del Rio. The highest point on the island is Sa Talaiassa.

Formentera is the smaller of the two islands and is located 6 km south of Ibiza in the Mediterranean. Between Ibiza and Formentera is the tiny uninhabited island of Espalmador. It is connected to Formentera by a sand bank and it is possible to wade between the two islands in low tide.
