Lake Balaton is a long and narrow lake situated in western Hungary. It has a shoreline of almost 200km. This is a freshwater lake and is the biggest in central Europe. The narrowest section measures about 1km, between Clutihany on the north shore and Szantod on the southern shore. The lake is a major tourist resort for the area with volcanic hills and many beach towns and villages.

This archive chart has a distinctive historical appearance and its sepia tones are particularly unusual. The lake is relatively shallow and on this chart is built up in seven 3d layers. To emphasize the chart’s colouring, a golden background was chosen in consultation with the client. A black mount and frame was opted for and surround lighting completes the piece.
