Lorient is a seaport town in the Morbihan area in North-Western France. It lies on the south coast of Brittany. It is a busy port town with an active commercial and fishing industry as well as yachting. Historically, shipbuilding has been important to the town which includes the building of military vessels. The town lies at the mouth of the Blavet and Scorff rivers. The main locations of note on this chart are Port-Louis on the east side which occupies the northern extremity of the chart, Larmor on the west side and Gavres to the south.
