Lough Swilly is a sea inlet lying between the western side of the Inishowen Peninsula and the Fanad Peninsula, in County Donegal. Along with Carlingford Lough and Killary Harbour it is one of three glacial fjords in Ireland.

The main towns featured on this chart are Buncrana on Inishowen and Rathmullan on the western side. The lough is also famous for its wildlife-watching and diving on the numerous ship wrecks, including the SS Laurentic.

The north section of Inch Island lies on the bottom of the chart. It is a small island on Lough Swilly and is now connected to the mainland by a road bridge.

The colouring is the distinctive Admiralty chart colouring. An oak frame with a cream mount on an aqua blue background finishes this piece.
