At first glance this chart appears to feature one large island. Closer inspection, however, will reveal the extraordinary detail of the myriad of tiny islands, so numerous that they almost appear to join up when viewed from a distance. The Maldives is a fascinating area. More than 1,000 coral islands make up the 26 ring-shaped atolls in the Indian Ocean. The archipelago is the surface of a huge submarine mountain range.
This chart concentrates on the North Ari Atoll, otherwise known as Alif Alif Atoll, and includes Rasddhoo to the northeast. Given that the Maldives is a popular and exotic honeymoon destination, Latitude Kinsale in the past have created a chart of this area as a honeymoon memento. I’m sure you will agree that the intricate detailing of this chart does justice to the unfailing beauty of the area.
The chart measures 600x500mm. It is set on a black background and is complemented by surround lighting which highlights the 3d work beautifully. A black mount and brushed silver frame finishes the piece.
