This chart focusses on the section of English coastline between Orford and Clacton-on-Sea. Felixstowe and Harwich are the central focal points. The port at Felixstowe is the UK’s busiest container port. The main navigation channel (as seen on the chart) is dredged to 14.5 metres below chart datum to allow Felixstowe to accommodate the world’s latest generation of deep-draughted vessels.

The rivers Stour, Orwell and Deben can be seen. Ipswich forms the inland boundary and is located on the northwest corner of the chart.

This piece is set on a marine blue background and is finished with a cream mount and an obeche frame.
