Istra is the largest peninsula within the Adriatic Sea. The peninsula is located at the head of the Adriatic between the Gulf of Trieste and the Kvarner Gulf. It is shared by three countries: Croatia, Slovenia, and Italy.
At the top of the chart shows Marano Lagoon, which is a huge lagoon in northeastern Italy. It has a surface area of around 160 square km. Marano Lagoon stretches from Lignano Sabbiadoro to the east for about 30 km. It is considered the twin of the Venice Lagoon which you can see on the left on the chart.
