This lovely chart features the coastline from Waterford to Wexford in Ireland. In between are Dunmore East, Hook Lighthouse, Duncannon, Bannow, the Saltee Islands, Kilmore, Rosslare and Tuskar Rock.
The Saltee Islands are a pair of small islands lying 5 km off the southern coast of County Wexford. The two islands are Great Saltee and Little Saltee. The islands are based on Pre-Cambrian bedrock between 600 million and 2 billion years old. The waters around the islands can be treacherous, hence the area is known as the “Graveyard of a Thousand Ships and the islands their tombstones”
Tuskar Rock is a group of rocks topped by a lighthouse 11 km off the southeast coast of County Wexford. It has probably destroyed more ships than any other Irish coastal feature.
