The islands of Hydra, Spetses and Dokos (note: variations of spellings) are featured on this chart. Hydra is the largest of the three and is shown south west on the chart. It is situated in the Aegean Sea between the Argolic Gulf and the Saronic Gulf. It is separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strip of water. It is an island that belongs to another era. No cars are allowed and transport is by foot or donkey. The island was famously home to Leonard Cohen at the beginning of his career.
The small rocky island of Dokos lies to the west of Hydra. Further west is Spetses which is seen to be an affluent island. It is an easy boat trip from here to Athens. The main activity lies around the town of Spetses which lies on the eastern coast. The mainland as far north as Poros Island is also shown on this chart which gives perspective to the islands’ location relative to the Greek mainland.
The chart is set on a navy background and has a white mount and frame combination.
