Menorca is the most westerly of the Balearic islands. It is known for its beautiful sandy beaches and is a quieter and smaller version of its neighbour, Majorca. Its capital is Mahon, which lies on the east coast and has one of the largest natural harbours in the world. It is 5km long and up to 900m wide. Ciutadella de Menorca was the old capital of the island up until the 18th century. It is located on the west coast and is an attractive town with a picturesque port.
There is a great level of detail shown on the chart which gives a real appreciation of the quality of surveying undertaken by the British Admiralty back to the 1800’s. This is one of many commissions we have completed for the Balearic Islands. This classic black and white chart is set on a golden background and has a charcoal mount and a black frame. It is enhanced by surround lighting.
