This is a complex coastal area that requires skill and patience to re-create in 3d. There are numerous small islands dotted in this area of the Norwegian Sea, not to mention the many coves, bays and inlets. This chart features the island of Tromoy and the port town of Arendal.
Tromøy is the largest island in Southern Norway. The 28.6 square-km island is entirely located in the municipality of Arendal in Agder county, Norway. The island is located directly across the harbor from the town of Arendal. The highest point on the island is the 95 metres tall Vardåsen. The island is separated from the mainland to the north by the Tromøysundet strait and it is separated from the island of Hisøya to the southwest by the Galtesundet strait.
Arendal, town and port, southern Norway. Its excellent harbour is on Tromøy Sound, a protected sound sheltered by the offshore island of Tromøy. Arendal is one of the most important coastal shipping centres of Norway and is the terminus of a branch of the Sørland (Oslo-Stavanger) rail line. The four-story town hall is one of the largest wooden buildings in Norway.
